Last year the town hosted ‘The Big Strip’ – an event which saw over 4,000 people take to the streets of Oban to watch and take part in a mass highland dance. It was a huge success for the town.
This year BID4Oban is taking on the event and is hoping to turn it into a key annual town celebration. Should you wish to find out more about the great work BID4Oban do, please visit the website.
The Big Strip 2012 event will take place on Stevenson Street and Aird’s Crescent on the 14th July from 5-8pm. We are incorporating events to make it a mini street party with local stalls, live music, mass gaelic choir, Oban pipe band, street performers and hopefully live comedy act Kevin Bridges opening the party.
We are going for the Guinness Book of Records to ensure we officially break the record.
